Mediterranean herbs are a must for beginner or experienced cooks! Originating from the countries that are surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, today these herbs are popular worldwide in many styles of cooking and recipes. While enjoying a beverage and herb scone, we will discuss various herbs and their culinary uses. After discussing you will be able to pick your 3 favorite herbs to plant and use for your best-loved dishes!

Come join us in the open field alongside the pond for a 60 minute vinyasa flow to yin practice for ALL LEVELS and first timers. We will gather as a community in a yoga practice that will focus on flowing with our breath as we move our bodies and connect with nature. No experience necessary, just an open mind:) We will plant seeds for our growth on and off our mats.
Bring a friend! Gift someone special who loves yoga and/or plants. Stay for hot tea following the practice. Wander the grounds of the garden center’s indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs and trees for your own home or inspiration. Also, take a look at their potting shed and visit with the goats and ducks on the property.
Bring your own yoga mat and/or towel, water bottle, and whatever you may need for your practice. Sunscreen, if needed, as we will be in open field under the sun.
**Tentative rain date will be April 14, if needed. If there is a rain date, and you are unable to make it, you will be reimbursed.

Instructor: Darlene Genander, owner of Yoga in Nature. Darlene has been doing yoga for 30 years, across the U.S. in many different studios as well as outdoors, in fields, on mountain tops, and by the ocean. She has always loved being outdoors, from the time she was little when she played in the woods and helped her mom in the gardens. Why not combine both things she loved? Yoga and nature heal the soul. Yoga in Nature was launched on Earth Day 2019 and offers classes, events, and retreats in nature across the Triangle and internationally. She teaches a Vinyasa Flow to Yin style yoga, but also offers restorative and meditation. In addition, she is a certified SUP (Stand-Up Paddle Board) Yoga instructor, offering classes from Spring-Fall. For more information, check out her Instagram and MeetUp.

Tree care is important for a healthy tree. An unhealthy or stressed tree is more susceptible to pests and diseases. Promoting the health of your trees is likely to mitigate some of the risks to your property. Tim Wright will discuss some techniques and tools for tree care.

This engaging class is for those interested in learning about this fascinating horticultural art form. The class and hands-on workshop will teach the aesthetic aspects of classical bonsai along with the technical and horticultural fundamentals you’ll need to enjoy this wonderful hobby. The class will cover bonsai styles, design, pruning, wiring, container selection, potting, and care.
Fee is $75/person; includes all workshop materials you’ll need to create your very own bonsai, an introductory bonsai book, a detailed after care guide for your new tree, and light hors d’oeuvres.

Instructor: Ken Hallatt, bonsai artist, educator, and owner of Carolina Bonsai is past President of the Triangle Bonsai Society. With over 40 years of experience Ken has trained with many gifted, international bonsai artists and enjoys sharing this “growing art” with others.
